This notice explains what information Certified Mechanical collects through this website and how we use it.
What we collect
When you submit the Request Service form, we collect:
- your name and phone number
- your postal code
- whether the property is a home or a business
- your description of the furnace problem and how soon you need service
- any optional notes you choose to add
With your request, the website also records the page you submitted it from, the website that referred you to us (if any), and any campaign tags in the page address (such as utm_source), so we can understand how customers find us. This is taken only from the page you’re on when you submit; no cookies are used for it.
We don’t ask for your email address, street address or payment details through this website. If you tap one of our phone numbers, your device places the call; this website doesn’t collect information about the call.
How we use it
We use the information you submit to respond to your request, contact you, and arrange and provide the service you ask for. Each request is given an internal reference number so we can keep track of it.
Where your information goes
Your request is sent over an encrypted connection to the form service of our website host (Netlify), which stores a copy of the submission and emails it to our office. Service providers that host this website and deliver these emails process information on our behalf. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or similar tracking technologies, and it doesn’t load content from third-party services. The request details described above are only collected when you submit the form. If we add analytics or advertising measurement in future, we’ll update this notice first.
Like most websites, the servers that host this site may automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to operate and secure the site.
How long we keep it
We keep service request information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including maintaining our customer and service records, or as required by law.
Your choices
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, ask how it’s being used, or withdraw your consent to its use (subject to legal or contractual restrictions; this may mean we can’t provide the service). If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
